Grace Levin grew up in Los Angeles, California where she first developed her love for cities. She received her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Middlebury College, where she conducted ethnographic research on alternative housing models that was awarded the Margaret K Nelson award for critical contributions to public social science. She is currently based in Austin, Texas and works with the Dougherty Arts Center, Austin’s oldest cultural arts venue, on community engagement, outreach, and education programs. Her interests are in co-creative practices of city governance and artistic placemaking.
