Andrea is project manager for international urban development at the German Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR). Her current work focuses on urban transformation processes, like digital transformation and the future of work in Cities. She worked as a planner for strategic urban development with the City of Cologne and was involved in the development of a new strategic plan for the City. As a 2010 Fellow of the American Council on Germany (Fellowship in Environmental Affairs) and 2015 Fellow of the German Marshall Fund (Urban and Regional Policy Program) she was able to learn important lessons about planning in the US and its transferability to German Cities. She holds a Diploma from Bonn University in Geography.
